if they're gonna hurt us they won't wait for people to try getting out to do that. and the food they keep giving us has to come from somewhere, it doesn't just appear. i think i'll check the kitchens out again.
I'd guess that's their goal. Get us comfortable enough we forget how bad it is. Like a callus.

depends on the devil fruit? they're all different and do different things and a lot of people don't even know what they'll get until they eat it. i know someone who can detach and control their limbs and body, and if you slice them they just go apart and then back together again. they were weird.
It's possible. I don't know their motivations - I'm not sure any of us do. We're working to figure that out, but they seem to know more of us than we do of them.
