you're made of rubber?

koby told me. he also told me you saved him.

how? is that why you're hungry so often? so much room to fill?

also speaking of food koby gave me this jam, i stole a loaf of bread and left both on your bed. it's delicious.

but yes you saved him. funny thing for a pirate to do.

we can share it and get more when we want to. koby said there are more jams with different fruits.

[ does he have a sweet tooth? maybe. (definitely). ]

fair point. stealing him from a bad pirate and bringing him into your good graces seems like the better move. but he's told me he's a marine - i suppose he stole himself from you then? set out on his own way.

we sea-faring fools have a way of doing that don't we?

how extraordinarily piratical of you. your pirate kingdom will be one of pillaging friends and good food.

sounds like paradise.

nowhere in my books. like i said - we're friendly with most pirates!

there are a few i'd rather put a hole in their hulls, but until they cross my ship i don't see a reason to.

your crew have a name then? your ship?

[ time to be ship nerds. ]

they already know, but they're not willing to admit it. people get stuck in their ways a little too often for my liking - the world changes every day, so why don't we?

but the going merry is a strong name. and a respectable crew. we'll have to come up with exciting ways to increase your bounty. a pirate king should be priceless.

two things: we need to take a trip to the kitchens during breakfast instead of after. they made something for me when i visited them that you have to try.

[ it’s french toast. and he sends a picture of three fluffy slice with powdered sugar on them and syrup. he’s learned how to send pictures, it’s going to be a lot. ]

they showed me where the lettuce is for our smaller bunkmate. i have an entire head on my desk for him if you run out.

Was it you I saw at the gates the other morning?
You ever make it out? You seemed determined.

[ don’t question how he knows just who luffy is. he might have peeked into a couple of minds. ]

i became friendly with one of the kitchen staff. strategies, see?

and yes - toast with sugar and butter and it's spicy, cinnamon, maybe? and syrup.
if you get up early enough, we'll go.

can your snail open doors????

I did the same. I've tried three times, got about as far as the last time, and woke up back in this place.

It doesn't want us to leave - so be careful when you try. Not sure if there's a limit.

i'll come knock on your side of the bathroom door before i leave. pretty sure we can get breakfast downstairs then go upstairs.

but the snail can't come. and if he can open doors we'll have to get good locks.

No, not imagining at all. I can't recall how I got there or how far I got when I left, just that I would wake up.

So be careful. They brought us here for a reason, and they don't want us to leave for that same reason. If boredom is it? Then we're in trouble.

they do say that early to bed, early to rise works.

... wait. they talk with their minds? i don't think i understood that part before - though i suppose it shouldn't surprise me since they're snails. that communicate.
