[ Typically, Shanks lets Luffy come to him, and he doesn't pry too much, or push. But after Buggy showed up at his room, unannounced, and the subsequent scare and night that resulted from that, and as it's been a day or so, and he hasn't even seen his rubber friend around, perhaps a bit longer, Shanks decides to check in. Of course, he'll back off if Luffy wants to pretend he's not bothered, but honestly. These two. ( Perhaps Shanks is just a tiny bit worried, but that would mean admitting that. ) ]
Luffy, you been out much lately? I thought we could go for a bit of a walk-about.
( Luffy has been out and about, though sleep had been a little tricky at first after the talk of ghosts on the network and then with Buggy. In the end he'd managed a nap after repeatedly telling himself that if there were no paintings in his room then it stood to reason there were no ghosts. He's only just getting back to his room having spent half the morning mopping floors in the kitchens to make up for an attempting swiping of foodstuffs. Being tired and distracted meant said attempt failed spectacularly. )
Yeah! I mean to both. Yeah, we can go for a walk. Where to?
This is Mitsuru Kirijo. You do not know me but I'm an associate of Nami's.
[ "Associate"...
Also, right, pirates... it does give her pause to wonder about just who she is mixing with in this place but hey. ]
This might seem rather random but I've been told that you are always extremely hungry and those of you on the lower levels must pay for your food? Is that true?
(Luffy doesn't need to be told twice. Both texts from Buggy and Shanks have come in at the same time, and the tone of Shanks' voice is enough to have his stomach sinking. Something serious has to have happened and he's already heading out the door when he responds.)
[No Straw Hat, Champ, no kid, no rubber boy, or any number of nicknames he's given the other this time. No, just a weak, hoarse sounding Luffy.]
Can you help me?
[It hurts, having to ask for help, but you know. He might actually need it. Maybe it just hurts not having his crew around to ask, being alone in this stupid place, and Luffy seems like the best option. At least he knows this weakness. At least they share all those brilliant little Devil Fruit vulnerabilities.]
(There is so much wrong with this message that Luffy can barely begin to understand as he jumps to his feet and heads for the door of his room. Perhaps it's the use of his name, something Buggy rarely if ever does, or the way the clown sounds. No bravado, no drama or theatrics, a mere simple ask that conveys something serious is happening. Has happened.
Luckily Shanks has already dropped a location and Luffy is swiftly making his way over, glad that the resort hasn't thought to play more games that involved dodging random people when trying to get somewhere.)
[ Nami's really leaning into this queen gig, luring Luffy up to the palatial quarters she's been given so that she can wake up before he does on his birthday to sneak off and boss around the staff given the unfortunate assignment of keeping the new queen of clubs happy.
Waiting in the kitchen is the feast she requested, primarily meat-based dishes litter the expansive blue marble countertops, all set and ready to be devoured by the birthday boy in question, and at the end, a silver covered platter containing the first of what she imagines, is many meals.
It's a good thing she checked under that cover, as the massive heart-shaped cut of steak, charred to perfection and smelling delicious is, well, it's shaped like a heart, isn't it? She can look past the delicately shaped meat roses dotting the edges of the plate, but…
But he's getting a butt-shaped steak, and that's the end of it!
In one decisive motion, she cuts off the pointed end of the heart, ignoring the stupid way being called out by meat has left her own beating harder than she'd like it to before covering the plate back up and balancing a scroll of parchment on the edge as she carries it back to where Luffy's sleeping. Nami sets his breakfast, and the rolled up copy of the Grand Line map she's been drawing from memory down, giving him a passing smile as she sneaks out again, aware he'll wake up sooner rather than later.
I'll get us there before you know it.♥, reads the note scrawled on the map's bottom margin, and despite the dismal situation they're still stuck in here, Nami believes what she wrote with her whole heart. ]

hi it's me again, i live here now. nami > shanks > luffy
[ Luffy sleeps over a lot, which is exactly how Nami likes it, for a number of reasons, only some of which pertaining to the fact that she feels better when she knows where he is. Moments like this one are a big plus as well, when, after Shanks made his interest in the both of them more than clear, the afternoon she and the older pirate spent trying to track down Luffy, Nami has an idea for how to continue Luffy's birthday celebrations for a little longer.
It's late morning when she waits for Shanks to show himself up to her suite, lingering by the hidden door to her private set of rooms to let him inside once he's gotten through the rest of the space.
Once she hears the familiar sound of his footsteps just outside, Nami slides open the hidden panel that reveals the set of rooms she's claimed for herself and presses a finger to her lips, indicating that he should be quiet. ]
He's still asleep. [ She whispers. ] I say we see if he'll let us join him.
[ Nami tilts her head in the direction of her bed, partially exposed to the ocean beyond and gives Shanks a little smile, before taking a few steps in that direction, waiting for him to follow. ]
[ His lips curl into a smile as soon as the hidden door opens and he sees Nami's face. He follows her through. ]
[ Shanks softly chuckles and nods his head, but not without whispered commentary, of course. ] Have to get boundless energy from somewhere.
[ There is no hesitation as he follows Nami, though he pauses to remove his cloak and set it aside, safely. It's a level of trust - Nami and Luffy more than know about the left arm situation - and comfort, but also, an inclination he wouldn't have been wearing it long, anyway. ]
[ Shanks follows Nami's intent, but on the other side of the bed. ]
